Segmental vaults

Building arches and studying its stability.

Building arches and a vault with CSEB mini blocks and stabilised earth as a mortar , with the help of a frame.

The foundations and walls are made of stabilised rammed earth(5% cement).The vaults and the groined dome are made of compressed earth blocks(CSEB).These vaulted structures are built free spanning.

Waterproofing the roof(segmental vault)using a mixture prepared locally-a paste of lime water,tanin ,cement,and soil.rice husk used a filler.

The cost of construction is 3,650 rupees per sqm.
